The East Windsor Vol. Fire Co. No. 1 celebrated its 43rd annual installation of officers on Feb. 3.
In 2011, the fire company had its busiest year, answering 515 calls. It also held 50 training drills.
East Windsor Mayor Janice Mironov administered the oath of office to Chief Kevin Brink, Deputy Chief Jim McCann, Assistant Chief Tony Katawick, and Captain Carl Dye Jr.
Lieutenants Josh Matorin, Chris Rosenberger and Jay Laughlin Jr. and Fire Police officers Captain Marvin Lesser and Lieutenant Ken Brink Sr. also were sworn in during the ceremony.
Fire company house officers were President Marvin Lesser, Vice President Jay Laughlin Jr., Recording Secretary Josh Matorin, Corresponding Secretary Harvey Bailey, Treasurer Austin Pinkney, Assistant Treasurer Kevin Williams and Sergeant. at Arms Keith Sharrocks. Trustees are Mr. Dye, Mr. Katawick, Mr. Lesser, Mr. Laughlin, Mr. Matorin, Mr. McCann and Mike Golembieski.
Ladies Auxiliary officers for the year are President Sharon Clarken, Vice President Eileen McCann, Vice President Jill Brink, Treasurer Rose Nelidin, Recording Secretary Betty Smith, and Corresponding Secretary Jen McConville. Trustees are Anita Brink, Debbie Dorfman and Janien Rosenberger.
The fire company presented Special Service Awards to several veteran firefighters. The honored firefighters were: Kevin Brink for 30 years of service, Mike Hamill for 25 years of service, Tony Katawick for 20 years of service, Evan Dorfman for 15 years of service and Josh Matorin for seven years of service.
