MONTGOMERY Former New York Giants legend Brad Benson and his colleagues at Brad Benson Hyundai on Route 1 in South Brunswick are donating a 2012 Hyundai Veloster to benefit the Montgomery Township Education Foundation raffle.
Tickets are $100 each and no more than 500 tickets will be sold.
The drawing for the winner will take place on March 24h at the foundation’s 7th annual Fundraising Dinner and Silent Auction at Cherry Valley Country Club in Skillman. One does not have to be present at the event to win.
According to foundation treasurer Wade Martin, “Unlike most raffles, Brad donates this car for free so that the foundation can get the most out of his donation. Our goal is to sell all 500 tickets, which would yield the MTEF $50,000. That would go a long way to fulfilling our financial commitment for Cougar Stadium and helping even more kids in town.”
To date the foundation has provided Montgomery Township’s schools with scholarship funds, teacher recognition awards, an outdoor classroom, equipment for the science department, cameras to enable students to take photography and other things that enhance the public schools.
Its most visible effort is the construction of Cougar Stadium, which is utilized by most township students and has become a central gathering place for residents on Friday nights during football season.
This year’s dinner committee consists of Lee Ann Martin, Mandy Holanda, Karen DiPersia and Lisa Miller.
