Project Graduation Prom Fashion Show: The 2012 South Brunswick High School Project Graduation Prom Preview Fashion Show will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the South Brunswick High School auditorium located at 750 Ridge Road in Monmouth Junction. Art Lecture: The South Brunswick Senior Center will present an art video and lecture at 12:30 p.m. to honor the Van Gogh Exhibit entitled “Van Gogh Up Close”. This exhibit is on view from Feb. 1 to May 6 at the Philadelphia Museum. Vincent van Gogh was an artist of exceptional intensity, not only in his use of color and exuberant application of paint, but also in his personal life. Drawn powerfully to nature, his works particularly those created in the years just before he took his own life engage the viewer with the strength of his emotions. Maurice Mahler, artist, historian and lecturer will present this program. This program is sponsored in memory of the wife of a member who has passed that was extremely fond of Maurice’s lectures.This event is open to senior residents 55-plus. Birthday luncheon: We invite all South Brunswick seniors 55-plus to our monthly birthday luncheon on Feb. 28 at 11:00 a.m.. If your birthday is in the month of February please call the office by February 21st A special menu will be served followed by birthday cake. Healthy mind lecture: The South Brunswick Senior. Center will present a lecture entitled a healthy mind at 10:30 a.m.. This lecture will be presented by a group of medical students from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. In the elderly, a number of life changes can increase the risk for depression, or make existing depression worse. Please join us to learn how to increase your happiness.
