Monday is filing deadline; board president, vice president must make decision to run
Dana Boguszewski, who was selected to the fill a vacancy last May, has filed to run for a three-year term on the Board of Education.
Three seats on the school board will be contested in the April 17 election. Nominating petitions with 10 signatures of voters are due by 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, in the board office of the municipal building.
The terms of board president Steve Paget and vice president Marc Rosenberg expire, too.
April elections were set when the board opted to forego moving to the Novermber general election this year.
Ms. Boguszewski is filling the term of Barbara Sargent, who resigned to concentrate on her new job as superintendent of the Readington Township school district.
Candidacy packets are available in the board office in the municipal building on South Branch Road.
It only takes the signatures of 10 registered voters to qualify. A person must have lived in the township for at least one year. You do not have to have a child in the district to run.
A candidate must be able to read and write, have lived in the township or in the sending district of Millstone for at least one year, be registered to vote and be a citizen, have no contract or claim against the board.
