Jr. Raiders take
sports registrations
   Friday, Feb. 24 — Junior Raider football, cheer and track signups take place from 6-9 p.m. at the Municipal Building. Students entering kindergarten to grade 8 in September are welcome. Also held Saturday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. to noon.
   Participants are required to register at www.jrraiders.org. Payment can be credit card, check or cash. Those paying by cash or check must come in person on Feb. 24 or 25.
   Anyone needing a jersey (e.g., new tackle player or old one is too small) must come in person and get fitted.
   Families are asked to bring a non-perishable food item in support of the Hillsborough Food Bank.
Library program
helps job seekers
   Thursday, March 1 — Job seekers can get help finding employment through a Somerset County Library System program at the Hillsborough library, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
   The open house will feature local government, civic and non-profit groups.
   Classes on basic computer use, business-related databases, programs about looking for positions for workers age 40 or older, plus one-on-one help with resumes, are among the services provided.
Fish fry buffet
at local firehouse
   Friday, March 2 — Hillsborough Fire Company No. 3 will hold its annual fish fry buffet from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Woods Road. Menu includes baked tilapia, fried cod, fried clams, fried shrimp, chicken fingers, pierogies, vegetable medley, French fries, rice, homemade cole slaw, salad, desserts, drinks.
   Tickets at door are adults, $11; seniors 60 and older, $10; children 5 to 12, $9; children 4 and under free.
Dresses, tuxedos
on resale for benefit
   Saturday, March 3 — Evening dresses and tuxedo jacket go on sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the high school Commons.

Temple will host
Purim carnival

RoboRaiders, library
co-host science fair
   Thursday, March 8 — Team 75 (Hillsborough High School Roboraiders) and the Hillsborough Public Library co-host a science fair from 4-9 p.m. for grades 5-8.
   Judges will award prizes. Possible topics include chemistry, ecosystems, electricity, mixtures and solutions, genetics and the environment. You can work on your own, with a partner, or in a group of three. Sign up at the library’s Children’s Desk and tell us what you will demonstrate.

Community gardens
is club meeting topic
   Thursday, March 22 — The Neshanic Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting at 9:45 a.m. at the Station House, Olive Street, Neshanic Station. At 11 a.m. master gardeners Jerry Hirsch and Marylin Hulme will talk about Branchburg’s community garden and about growing flowers and vegetables in a personal community plot garden.

Comedy Night

   Saturday, March 24 — The Optimist Club sponsors its third annual Comedy Night with three comedians from 7-10 p.m. at St. Joseph Church, 34 Yorktown Road. Proceeds go to children with cancer to attend Camp Quality in Blairstown. You may bring food and drinks. Tickets are $30 apiece and all tickets must be sold prior to the event.    Saturday, March 31 — A pancake breakfast featuring the Easter bunny will be held at the Fire co. No. 3 firehouse at 324 Woods Road. Seatings at 8:15 and 10:30 a.m. Pancakes, French toast, hams, scrambled eggs, fruit.
