Edwin Gerard McAdam

Mr. McAdam, 86, of Howell, died Feb. 5, 2012, at Van Dyke Hospice Center at Community Medical Center in Toms River. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in science from Seton Hall University, South Orange, and a Master of Science degree in science from Rutgers University, New Brunswick. Mr. McAdams worked as a manager of quality control for Mobil Oil Corp., Fairfax, Va., for 25 years before retiring in 1984. Aveteran of World War II, he received the American Theater Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Medal with one star, and a letter of commendation for his service. Surviving are his wife, Jean McAdam; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sheila McAdam of Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rosemary and Charles Piela of Howell and Krisanne and Christopher Alino of Brick; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; two brothers, Robert McAdam of Lyndhurst and Charles McAdam of Secaucus; and a sister, Therese Gorman of Haledon. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Veronica’s Catholic Church, Howell, followed by interment in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover, Burlington County. Arrangements were by the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, Jackson.
