Thank you to everyone who voted in the fire district elections held on Feb. 18.
The fire budgets were approved in all three of the Hopewell Valley municipalities.
In Hopewell Township, a second question — which will provide funding for self-contained breathing apparatus and a communications upgrade — also was approved.
The self-contained breathing apparatus currently being used by our firefighters is over 15 years old, outdated and repair parts are scarce.
The communications upgrade will provide far better communications between fire departments, as well as advanced communications on fire scenes.
