By Matt Wong Music
On March 31, 2012, 14 year old guitarist and songwriter from West Windsor, New Jersey will appear LIVE at It’s a Grind Coffeehouse in Plainsboro, New Jersey. The music that will be performed that evening will be a mix of originals and cover songs – all played by Matt using his unique style of guitar playing where he can simultaneously play the melody, rhythm, bass and a little bit of percussion which he calls, “fingerstyle.”
Wong picked up the guitar at the age of six and has been playing ever since. He was inspired to play fingerstyle when he heard acoustic guitar legend Tommy Emmanuel play this jaw-dropping way of guitar playing via YouTube. However, prior to this encounter, Wong had musical roots in classical guitar through his studies with current teacher Paul Hofreiter, his teacher of five years. In October 2011, Matt released his debut album, titled Fly me to the Moon. As an aspiring performer, Matt has played shows all over New Jersey. Matt is influenced by many talented and varied songwriters including Emmanuel, Joe Robinson, and the Beatles.
The show will begin at 8 PM. All ages are welcomed to attend. There is FREE admission for this concert. For more information, please visit mattwong.webs.com.
