Somerset County Library System (SCLS) patrons who borrow digital materials now have a choice as to the length of time they can enjoy their eMedia. Originally the lending period was 7 or 14 days. Patrons now can elect to borrow materials for 7, 14 or 21 days.
“We’ve experienced a huge upswing in patrons borrowing eMaterials and in particular, eBooks,” according to SCLS director Brian Auger. “To accommodate this, SCLS has purchased a large number of licenses to assure our patrons of the quality and breadth of material available to them.”
SCLS has one of the largest digital libraries available to patrons throughout the state of New Jersey. Patrons have access to over 8,300 eBooks and 2,900 audiobooks. Patrons with questions on how to download and borrow eMaterials can visit the library’s website at www.sclsnj.org and select “Digital Media Collection” in the right hand column of the home page. An extensive help section is available there online as well as in person at each of the library’s nine branches during normal operating hours.
The Somerset County Library System has branches in Bridgewater, Bound Brook, Hillsborough, at the Mary Jacobs Library in Rocky Hill, North Plainfield, Peapack & Gladstone, Somerville, Warren Township and Watchung.
