Personality type secrets revealed
Susan Rovello, MSW, LCSW, of Lambertville and a licensed psychotherapist, is giving a presentation for Wednesdays for Women on March 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Hamilton’s Grill in Lambertville. The topic is “Unlocking the Secrets of Personality Type.“ Ever wonder why you immediately click with some people and not with others? This fun and informative presentation will provide you with a greater understanding of yourself and the important people in your life. Wednesdays for Women is a meet and greet, networking program that begins with a guest speaker presentation followed by a three-course meal. Ziti dinner
On March 2, the Centenary United Methodist Church at 108 N. Union St., Lambertville, will hold a ziti dinner from 5-7 p.m. The meal will consist of salad, baked ziti, bread, dessert and beverages. The cost is $10. Proceeds will benefit the roof restoration fund.

The Columbia Fire Company No. 4, 177 N. Union St. in Lambertville, is holding its 30th annual Lenten Fish Fry every Friday during Lent, ending on Good Friday (April 6). Shad posters

Rubber Ducky Race
The South Hunterdon PTSO annual Rubber Ducky Race will be held April 29 — the last day of Shad Fest. Heart health event
On March 2 from 7-8:30 p.m., Body Tech Fitness will host a ZUMBA Heart Healthy event. All proceeds will be donated to the American Heart Association. The Wear Red Event will be choreographed by the ZUMBA Fitness Team at Body Tech Fitness. Healthy snacks and refreshments will be provided following the event. A silent auction will top the evening with items such as a weekend stay at the Lambertville Station. Help support event for city’s volunteers
The members of the Lambertville Fire Department are preparing to celebrate another year of dedicated volunteer service. In June of last year, Ronald Tillett Jr. was promoted to the rank of chief and has since worked hard to continue moving the department forward. In an effort to thank the volunteers, the Lambertville Fire Department plans to hold a dinner dance on March 24 in the banquet hall of the Titusville Fire Company (Route 29, Titusville). Coryell’s Ferry Stamp Club
Founded September 1946 to serve the collectors of Eastern Bucks County and Hunterdon and Mercer counties, the Coryell’s Ferry Stamp Club (CFSC) meets the first and third Monday of each month. Kalmia raffle under way
Grand prize raffle tickets are being sold for a 2012 Lexus CT200h sedan by The Kalmia Club of Lambertville. Available until March 9, tickets cost $50 each or three for $100. Baseball registration is under way
A new video — featuring Lambertville resident and youth player, Sam Weber, as John Sterling, the voice of the New York Yankees — is being used to promote registration for the 2012 Lambertville-West Amwell Youth Baseball Association. The video can be seen on the league’s website. Since it’s been posted, it has “become something of a viral sensation getting hundreds of views,” said the spokesman. Sailing Club
The Hunterdon Sailing Club (HSC) will hold a membership meeting on March 25 at Riley & Jake’s Restaurant (formerly the Sunset Inn), 1831 Route 31, Clinton. The meetings are open to anyone interested in sailing and will begin with socializing at 12:30 p.m. and will be called to order at 1:30 p.m. The agenda for February will include an overview of club activities for the 2012 season. HSC is a not-for-profit group dedicated to promoting the sport of sailing. Club events are scheduled from the first week in May until mid October. HSC runs sailboat races in several classes every Sunday afternoon from May to October. On Wednesday evenings from May through mid-August, HSC holds its “Twilight“ series in Sunfish sailboats. The SHRHS Marching Band auction will be held March 17 in the South Hunterdon Regional High School gym. Learners Welcome returns to Stockton
The Stockton Elementary School is bringing back the Learners Welcome evening school for adults. All adults are welcome. Instructors are donating their services and 100 percent of the class cost will go the Stockton Elementary School PTO. Irish concert set
Irish singer Gerry Dignan is returning to the Bucks County area and will be the featured soloist at VOICES’ Irish concert on March 11 at 3 p.m. at the Anchor Presbyterian Church, 980 Durham Road (Route 413), Wrightstown. VOICES Chorale and Mr. Dignan, accompanied by guitar, fiddle, bodhran, tin whistle, flute and spoons, will perform various traditional Irish folk songs including: Bonny Wood Green (arr. S. Hatfield), Molly Malone (arr. B. Shover), The Curragh of Kildare (arr. M. Sirett), Danny Boy (arr. J. Flummerfelt). The audience will hear some Irish classical music by Charles Villiers Stanford, a motet, Beati quorum via, and a part-song, The Blue Bird.
The premiere of a new work by composer and VOICES’ singer Kenneth K. Guilmartin, “The Music Comes Through,” is based on his experience visiting County Clare in Ireland, home of his forefathers. The lively, rhythmic piece for soloists, chorus, and Irish band “dramatizes the time during the Irish rebellion when Irish music was outlawed by the British. Throughout Ireland, but especially in County Clare, the music went on underground and remained alive.”
Also included is a Sesún, an informal part of the concert with singing and clapping, to tunes like Finnegan’s Wake and I’ll Tell My Ma. This concert is appropriate for families. Children will be invited to see the instruments up close at intermission. WAES kindergarten registration
Registration for children who will be 5 on or before Oct. 1, 2012 will be held at the West Amwell Elementary School on April 24 and 26. Kindergarten students for September must be registered by Apri1 1. Registration after April 1 is for new students moving into the district. Proof of residency must be provided.
Each child must have the following and accompanying documentation, before he/she may enter school in September: Hepatitis B Vaccine (three dose series) Diptheria-Tetanus-Pertusis (DPT), four doses plus booster after 4th birthday; Polio-Series plus booster after 4th birthday; two Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR) combination shots are required by law; Varicella Vaccine (one dose); physical examination and birth certificate. Dog and cat licenses are due. A late fee of $25 will be assessed starting March 1. Complete the forms, found under “forms” and bring it with your proof of rabies to City Hall, 18 York St., to update and register your pet. The new ordinances and increase in fees took effect on Jan. 18.
Landlord registration application forms were mailed on Feb. 1. The applications are due by March 1. After March 1, a late fee of $50 per property will be assessed. The form is available online under Municipal Forms.

Lambertville: same-day trash and recycling
In Lambertville, same-day pickup for trash and recycling are under way. The new program eliminates the need for two schedules, provides weekly recycling pickup and limits conflicts due to Monday holidays. Residents and business owners participating in the City’s Garbage and Recycling Collection now are able to place garbage and recycling at the curb for pickup on the same day as their regular schedule.
To ensure smooth implementation of the new program, the City is asking residents to properly mark their containers so they are easily identified. Residents are asked to purchase or utilize containers that are properly marked “Recycling” for this purpose. The recycling center does not accept plastic bags.
