SOUTH BRUNSWICK: Annual Feinstein food drive competition begins

The South Brunswick Food Pantry has once again partnered with the Feinstein Foundation to take part in the foundation’s 15th Annual Challenge to Fight Hunger.
All members of Middlesex County and the South Brunswick community are invited to be partners in this challenge.
Each year from March 1 through April 30, the Feinstein Foundation challenges anti-hunger agencies throughout the nation to raise as many funds and collect as many food donations as possible, where each food item donated is valued at $1.
Alan Shawn Feinstein, founder of The Feinstein Foundation, will divide his donation of $1 million proportionately among all of the agencies participating in this challenge.
The more donations that are made to the South Brunswick Food Pantry from March 1 through April 30, the more money the Food Pantry will receive from the Feinstein Foundation.
In each of the past 12 years, the foundation has given away $1 million from March 1 through April 30 to help agencies throughout the nation fight hunger.
Their annual challenge to fight hunger has helped raise $1 billion for more than 2,000 anti-hunger agencies nationwide. To find out more about the Feinstein Foundation visit www.feinsteinfoundation.org.
The South Brunswick food pantry within the township’s Social Services Department provides food and gift cards to many needy families throughout the year.
The Social Services department also provides emergency assistance to indigent members of the South Brunswick community helping families with utility bills and rental assistance, and is funded by donations from schools, clergy, small and large businesses, and residents.
Each donation made during the challenge will make you a partner in the most successful effort to fight hunger of all time.
Please send donations to LouAnne Wolf, Director of Social Services, South Brunswick Social Services, PO Box 190, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852.
Please mark “Feinstein Foundation” in the memo on your check. All donations should be made payable to the South Brunswick Human Intervention Trust Fund and dated after March 1.
