The Rider University Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society inducted three Hillsborough residents among the 39 new members in a ceremony Feb. 26 on the Lawrenceville campus.
The Hillsborough students are Amy Crowe, Class of 2012, and an elementary education major; Sarah Sell, Class of 2013, an elementary education and mathematics dual major, and Nicole Singer, Class of 12, a secondary education and English dual major.
ODK is comprised of junior and senior students who hold leadership roles and have a grade-point average of at least 3.25.
Three Hillsborough students were placed on the fall dean’s list at Loyola University in Baltimore, Md.
To qualify, a student must have a GPA of at least 3.5 with a minimum of 15 credits. The local students are Nicole Jamin, a member of the class of 2012; Alexa Yakely, class of 2013, and Bryan Carney, class of 2015.
Christopher DelMaestro and Jessica Noelle Sbrilli, both of Hillsborough, were named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Drew University in Madison.
Students must earn a grade-point average of 3.4 or higher, which is equivalent to a B-plus or better.
David Mulrine of Hillsborough earned a place on the fall semester dean’s list at Felician College in Lodi and Rutherford. He earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 for the semester.
Two Hillsborough residents were been named to the dean’s list at Boston University for the fall semester. They are Samantha A. Moravec and Lisa M. Zdan.
Jessica Walton, a 2010 Hillsborough High School graduate, made the fall dean’s list at Ithaca (N.Y.) College. Jessica is a sophomore and an occupational therapy major.
Hillsborough’s Morgan Shein, a sophomore at Rutgers University majoring in psychology and education, was named to the dean’s list for the spring and fall 2011 semesters.
Lauren Troeller, an honors student at the Villanova School of Business at Villanova, has been named to the dean’s list for exceptional academic performance for the fall semester.
She is a freshman and was a 2011 graduate of Hillsborough High School.
Hillsborough sisters earned dean’s list honors in the fall semester.
Heather Sloan was named to the list at Centenary College, Hackettstown. She is the mentoring chair of the Delta Alpha Pi Honor society, a member of Theta Epsilon Nu and active in the Criminal Justice Club. She is a junior majoring in criminal justice.
Rachel Sloan was named at Albright College, Reading, Pa. She is president of the Alpha Kappa Delta Honor Society, a member of Alpha Phi Omega and active in Hillel. She is a senior majoring in sociology.
Rachel graduated from Hillsborough High in 2008 and Heather in 2009.
Ronika Bhatti of Hillsborough, daughter of Nilesh and Parul Bhatti, was named to the dean’s list of Emory College, the undergraduate liberal arts college of Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., for the fall semester.
Students must be in the top 20 percent the college or have a 3.81 grade-point average or higher.
Bryan S. Huff of Hillsborough, a senior majoring in civil engineering at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y., received the Cecile and Herman Lieberman Endowed Scholarship during the 2011-12 academic year.
