CNBA wants to welcome new businesses

COLTS NECK — After identifying many of the issues that have caused new start-ups in Colts Neck to come and go, the Colts Neck Business Association (CNBA) has decided to be proactive.

“We want our community to have the right mix of the kind of shops and firms that will be of value to residents and enhance our business district,” CNBA President Glen J. Dalakian said.

With that thought in mind the CNBAhas formed a Business Welcome Committee that is chaired by Colts Neck resident and local real estate professional Leanne Lucarelli.

“This is a ream effort,” Lucarelli said. “We have reached out to the mayor, the Township Committee, the township administrator and our own members to see how we can help people who may be interested in doing business here in town.”

According to a press release, a new brochure is in the works and a welcome basket has been created for anyone who opens a business in Colts Neck.

In addition to support being offered by the township, Monmouth County and Brookdale Community College have programs that could help entrepreneurs develop an enterprise.

The CNBA has identified these resources and will provide direction to those who can use them, according to the press release.

“Every town has its own personality and along with that its own ins and outs for business. We hope to help people make the right choice if they desire to move their organization here,” said Sal Barbagallo, a past president of the CNBA and a current member of the Business Welcome Committee.

Additional information is available at www.ColtsNeckBusiness.org or on Facebook. The CNBA meets on the second Wednesday of every month from 8-9 a.m. at the Colts Neck Library, 1 Winthrop Road, near Town Hall.
