Adesa Auto Auction reported several recovered stolen vehicles in its lot on North Main Street. Police sent teletypes to Jersey City and Philadelphia police about those two, which were reported at 12:51 p.m. March 12. Another recovered stolen vehicle was reported at 3:28 p.m. March 13, and three more in late afternoon of March 14. New York City police were notified about the last three.
A caller alerted police to a vehicle in the middle of South 21st Avenue, with engine running and doors and trunk open, at 1:28 p.m. March 12. When the male driver returned, police issued him a summons.
A South Main Street resident told police at 3:15 p.m. March 12 that he had misplaced his black trifold wallet containing a state ID card, $192 in cash and two debit cards. Police noted it on the record.
A caller at 4:39 p.m. March 12 reported a theft of a plow pump from his vehicle on South 6th Avenue. Estimated value was $800.
A caller at 6:04 p.m. March 12 said that his poodle was bitten by a husky owned by a North 9th Avenue man. Police responded. The poodle was taken to emergency animal care.
A tractor-trailer hit the Lehigh Valley Railroad underpass at about 11 a.m. March13. Police responded. The trailer was moved to the movie theater lot on North Main Street.
A Brooks Boulevard woman came to headquarters at 2 p.m. March 13 and said she had lost her bank debit card in Quick Chek between 8:45 p.m. March 11 and 10:30 p.m. March 12 and someone had made three unauthorized transactions, totaling $635.70, in the store.
A South 9th Avenue man reported at 3:07 p.m. March 13 that he had lost the front license plate on his dump truck on Route 80.
At 6:33 p.m. March 13 a man reported the theft of about $10,000 worth of tools from his work van, which was stored on North 1st Avenue, on March 12 or before 1 p.m. March 13.
A Sidorskie Avenue caller reported at 5:16 p.m. March 13 that someone had stolen a sign from the front yard. Police responded and reported the theft of a church sign, valued at $5.
A 56-year-old woman from Middlesex came to headquarters at 3:43 p.m. March 14 and said an 85-year-old South 7th Avenue woman had assaulted her earlier. Police spoke to both parties.
A man came to headquarters at 8:53 p.m. March 14 to report that an obscenity had been scratched into his car on the Rustic Mall access road.
A North 2nd Avenue woman who was watching a 4-year-old St. Bernard owned by a resident on the floor below her, called for an ambulance after being bitten on the hand at 9:48 p.m. March 14. The dog’s owner was out of town for the week.
A Huff Avenue man reported that his vehicle was hit with eggs twice in two days at 9:18 a.m. March 15 and at 8 a.m. March 16 with no damage.
A 1997 white Cadillac Deville belonging to a North Bellmore, N.Y., man was reported stolen from in front of Adesa Auto Auction at 10:50 a.m. March 15. It had been parked there a week earlier. The info was entered in the national crime registry. The value was placed at $1,000.
A South 14th Avenue man called at 7:49 p.m. March 16 to say that his 2009 Jeep Liberty was hit with eggs in the previous night, but he would wash them off.
Police responded to a report of an overturned vehicle in front of 952 Haran Ave. at 10:54 p.m. March 16. Patrols, the fire department and rescue were dispatched and the driver, Michael Arias, 21, of Bridgewater was treated.
Rescue 102 asked for an officer to come to 147 South 8th avenue at 1:20 a.m. Patrol responds. PSEG was dispatched to 247 South 18th Avenue and woke up the resident in error. That resident followed the PSEG employee to 247 South 8th Ave. to confirm he worked for PSEG.
At 9:26 a.m. March 17 a Brooks Boulevard man reported that someone fraudulently used his credit union Visa card for $285. Another Brooks Boulevard man reported at 11:51 a.m. March 17 that someone used his Wells Fargo debit card for $479.56.
A caller alerted police at 11:17 a.m. March 17 to a man and woman taking copper and an air conditioning unit from a Knopf Street address. Police arrested Angel S. Soto, 29, of Summit and Erin C. Holder, 22, of Somerville for burglary and theft. Bail was set on Mr. Soto at $25,000, and he was lodged in the Somerset County Jail. Ms. Holder posted the 10 percent cash option on her $10,000 bail.
A West Camplain Road man reported at 2:06 p.m. March 17 that someone had stolen his 21-inch-wheel mountain bike.
A Washington Avenue caller at 2:52 p.m. March 17 said that the windshield and driver’s side mirror of his vehicle had been damaged in the overnight hours, with about $250 to repair.
A woman reported at 6:42 p.m. March 17 that she arrived at her Harrison Avenue house and saw that a brick outdoor fire pit, weed whacker and assorted taxidermy items were missing and was reporting it for the record. She told police whom she thought was responsible.
A Huff Avenue woman called police at 8:28 p.m. March 17 and she had heard noises coming from a nearby abandoned house. Police found a broken basement window but it didn’t look like anyone had entered and the rest of the house looked secure.
A North 7th Avenue man called police at 11:24 p.m. March 17 to say an unknown man, apparently intoxicated, was sleeping on his front porch. Police arrested Jacek Sosnicki, 19, of Manville for disorderly conduct and trespassing. He was released on his own recognizance, but later taken shortly after midnight to Somerset Medical Center for treatment of extreme intoxication, police said.
Two Bound Brook people were arrested and charged with shoplifting from Wal-Mart at11:48 a.m. March 18. Alicia Cruz, 36, and Marcos Calderon, 37, were both lodged in county jail in default of $500 bail.
