Township Committee members Carl Suraci and Bob Wagner will seek new three-year terms.
They were unopposed at the March 12 candidate screening of the township Republican Committee.
Both men were first elected in 2003 and re-elected in 2006 and 2009. Mr. Suraci was chosen by his colleagues to serve as mayor in 2012. Mr. Wagner served as mayor in 2005.
The filing deadline to submit petitions to appear on the June 5 ballot is Monday, April 2, at 4 p.m.
It will be a busy election year. In 2012, local voters will help choose a president, U.S. senator, freeholder, congressman and a state Assembly member.
In the primary election, party voters also will choose members of both parties’ municipal committees. Among other duties, they act to fill vacancies as Republicans did this winter when Assemblyman Peter Biondi died.
