More children and families than ever attended Sunday’s third annual Breakfast with the Easter Bunny event at the Manville-Hillsborough BPOE 2119 lodge.
Nearly 90 children were brought by parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles — well above the attendance of 30 children from last year.
Breakfast was served to all. Photos were taken of children with the Easter Bunny, and the children had fun filling up their own baskets with candy, pencils, bubbles, lollipops, filled plastic eggs and other items.
”This year was like this community ‘exploded’ with families to share this event with us,” said Exalted Ruler Andrea Liptak. “With the profits from this event, we have already begun to plan other events.”
She thanked all who attended and volunteered time and talents. “This was the best breakfast with the Easter Bunny ever,” she said.
She invited people to stop at the lodge any Thursday at 7 p.m. for weekly bingo games. She also asked the public to remember the spaghetti dinner April 28, Mother’s Day brunch May 13 and the fourth annual Random Act of Kindness Pig Roast for Alex on May 20 to benefit Cosette Ruh, of Bridgewater.
