PRINCETON: Chamber relocating to Nassau Street

The walls are empty, shelves are barren and desks are being cleaned off as the last boxes are packed at the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce’s offices on Thursday afternoon.
March 29 was their last day at their home at 9 Vandeventer Ave. The offices will be closed on March 30 as they move into their new home at 182 Nassau St. in Suite 301 on the third floor.
The new location is across from Thomas Sweet.
”It’s about double the space we’ve got now,” said Chamber President and CEO Peter Crowley. “We had about 1,100 square feet here which about 900-950 of it was office space. We’re moving to just under 2,000 square feet. We explored a lot of possibilities, but we wanted to stay in the heart of the Princeton region.”
The chamber has added one staff member this year and will probably add another later this year, based on growth, said Mr. Crowley.
Each staff person will have his or her own office. A new phone system will be installed along with faster computer access on Monday after the boxes mostly unpacked and computers are set up.
”I’m looking forward to a conference room where we can seat our committees,” he said. “We can seat about 18 there, we can only fit 10 here.”
Parking at the new office should be more convenient with better on street access and expanded meter parking in the back of the building.
An open house is being planned for later in the spring.
