To the editor:
As a former member of the Lawrence Township Board of Education I would like to ask that on April 17 you come out and vote. My tenure on the board enabled me to see the importance of a board that consists of individuals that care about our students and their future. I also recognize the importance of board members that bring a wide range of expertise and experience. That is why I would ask that you support our children by voting for Jo Ann Groeger and Kevin Van Hise to continue their efforts as members of the Lawrence Township Board of Education.
Jo Ann Groeger a health and physical education teacher taught in the district for more than 30 years. Her passion is for all children, regardless of their needs, to be given the opportunity to develop to their potential not only educationally but physically, socially and artistically. Jo Ann brings her experience as an educator which will prove invaluable to insure that those who work directly with the students are heard. Please vote for Jo Ann Groeger so that she can continue her work on the board.
Kevin Van Hise, a product of the Lawrence Public schools, looks to give back what he gained as a student. While the board does have legal representation, as an attorney, he will add a different perspective to see things from different vantage point. This can only be an asset. With young children in the district he clearly has a vested interest in their successes but for all students. In order for some to students to succeed we must provide for all of our children. Kevin Van Hise is the right person to make that happen.
