To the editor:
I am writing to recommend Dr. Lorraine Soisson for the Board of Education.
As school board president for past three years I have been the liaison to the group of Home School Association presidents, known as the Joint Council. I have seen her leadership and organization in action as Lorraine has led this group.
The HSAs dedicate huge amounts of time and energy to run programs for students (science fairs, family nights, movie nights, star lab, field days and the list goes on and on) and raise funds for the betterment of the schools. Lorraine epitomizes this energy and dedication to better the schools. Her energy and knowledge of the district make her an excellent candidate to oversee the running of the district.
Also, she has been demanding of the administration as an HSA president and I expect she would do the same as a board member.
I also feel that her training as a scientist would be very beneficial in the oversight of the district. Not only will Lorraine act as an expert in the oversight of the science and math curriculum but she will take in information, ask questions, deliberate independently and make decisions based on sound reasoning.
