Cleanup of Farrington Lake set for April 14

The 10th annual cleanup around Farrington Lake will be held April 14 from 9 a.m. to noon. Registration is at 8:30. Advanced notice will help with the planning of the event. Sponsors include the Middlesex County Federation of Sportsmen, the Lawrence Brook Watershed Partnership and the municipalities of East Brunswick, North Brunswick, New Brunswick and Milltown.

Cleaning the lakefront improves the environment and maintains the health of the Lawrence Brook, a source of drinking water in the region. Individuals and groups should dress to pick up trash, with arms and legs covered and stout shoes. The meeting place is the parking area at Bicentennial Park in East Brunswick, located at Riva Avenue and Hardenburg Lane. Refreshments will be provided.
