• Registration for the Walk to End Brain Tumors is under way. The 1-plus-mile walk through the historic New Egypt section of Plumsted, which hopes to raise awareness and funds for research, will be held May 5. A festival featuring food, vendors, free entertainment and more will follow the walk. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. Register online at www.walktoendbraintumors.org or call 609-914-1590.

• A fish fry sponsored by the New Egypt Elks, 105 Lakewood Road, New Egypt, will be held 6-8 p.m. April 13. The cost for a fish dinner is $9 (two pieces) and $10 (three pieces). Chicken will be available for $8 (two pieces) and $9 (three pieces). All children’s dinners are $5. Take-out will also be available. • The Jackson library, 2 Jackson Drive, Jackson, will celebrate National Library Week 9:30-11:30 a.m. April 14 with Sparks, the library mascot, Hou Tien Cheng, the incredible Chinese paper-cutter, and games for all ages. • An enneagrams workshop led by Eleanor Clark will be held at 2 p.m. April 14 at the Jackson library, 2 Jackson Drive, Jackson. The enneagram is a method used to help understand personality types and enable the better understanding of character traits. All are welcome to attend the free program. • A Spring Fling Dance hosted by American Legion Post 455 Ways and Means Committee will be held 7-11 p.m. April 14 at Post 455, 2 Meadowbrook Lane, New Egypt (across fromAgway). The cost of $10 per person includes finger foods, snacks and desserts. The lounge will be open. Dance music will be provided by DJ K-Rob of Champion Sound Productions. • Childhood Leukemia Foundation will hold its third annual Auction of Hope from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 15 at the Woodlake Country Club, Lakewood. Tickets are $40 and include a brunch buffet and a sheet of tickets. Proceeds will benefit pediatric cancer. Details: 732-920-8860.

• Used book donations are being collected by the Friends of the Plumsted Township Library for a book sale slated for November. Books for all ages, CDs, DVDs, audio books and jigsaw puzzles will be accepted as long as they are not soiled or mildewed. No videotapes, Readers Digest condensed books, magazines or encyclopedias will be accepted. Drop off items behind the Plumsted library on Evergreen Road in New Egypt on the first Saturday of each month beginning May 5, and continuing June 2, July 7, Aug. 4, Sept. 1 and Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Do not leave items if no one is present. • A book drive is being conducted by American Legion Post 455, 2 Meadowbrook Lane, New Egypt. Donations of paperbacks, textbooks, cookbooks, hard cover, and any book, CD, DVD and video game with a bar code can be dropped off at any event. Upcoming events include Friday night bingo, SAL monthly breakfast, and others. Post 455 will receive a donation for every item dropped off.
