Police investigate reported shooting, stabbing at Laurence Harbor club

OLD BRIDGE — Police responded to a reported stabbing at the Diamond Girls gentlemen’s club on Route 35 in Laurence Harbor over the weekend.

Police responded to the club around 2:51 a.m. on April 7, but the parties involved and witnesses had already left. A short time later, police received a call from a Long Branch resident who had been at the club that evening and observed a man with stab wounds bleeding heavily. The witness also described a melee scene outside of the establishment, according to police.

The caller said that an announcement was made inside the club that there had been a shooting outside and that it would be closing, according to the police report. When the caller arrived home, he found two bullet holes in the hood of his 2003 BMW 745i, prompting him to contact police.

Authorities subsequently received a call from Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, where Eatontown police were questioning two subjects being treated for injuries sustained during the alleged incident.

A24-year-old male from Asbury Park was treated for a gunshot wound to the hip, while a 26-year-old male, also from Asbury Park, received seven stitches to his right cheek as well as treatment for a stab wound to the chest and four stab wounds to the back, police said.

According to police, the two victims, who were at the club for a hip-hop music night, were not very cooperative. According to the report, one of the victims told police that an unknown female had begun to talk to him when he exited the club, before an unknown male approached and asked if he knew who he was. When the victim said he did not care, another unknown male punched him in the face. The victim then heard four gunshots, but did not recall being stabbed.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has additional information is asked to contact Detective Mike Blahota of the Old Bridge Police Department at 732-721-5600, ext. 3271.
