The East Brunswick Wrestling Club wrapped up its season with an awards dinner and celebrated the accomplishments of the wrestlers on a league and state level. EBWC had 60 kids enter various league championship tournaments, and just over 50 of those kids placed in the top three of their division, with 16 as champions. On the state level, EBWC had nine kids qualify for the New Jersey Kids State Championship and one for the New Jersey Girls State Championship, with four of those kids making allstate and one winning a state championship. Christian Perrine and Jason Minikel placed fifth in the state at their division; Tyler Underwood placed seventh and Stephanie Yarnall placed eighth. In addition to wrestling in the Kids State Tournament, Stephanie wrestled in the Girls State Championship and now holds the distinction of being EBWC’s first state champion by winning her division. EBWC will hold an open Spring Session in May and June for current, former and future EBWC wrestlers for free. Additional information regarding EBWC and the Spring Session can be found at www.ebwrestling.com or on Facebook under East Brunswick Wrestling Club.
