HIGHTSTOWN: Hit-and-run victim aids police

   HIGHTSTOWN — Police said a victim hit by a drunk driver followed the alleged perpetrator while notifying police of the incident.
   Officers arrested Alex Quesada, 34, of Monmouth Street, and charged him with driving while intoxicated at 8:44 a.m. March 31, the Hightstown Police Department said in a release on the incident.
   Police officers responded to the reported hit and run accident that had occurred in the Krauszer’s Lot, Franklin Street. Through the investigation, officers identified Mr. Quesada as the driver and detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage on him, police said.
   He was taken into custody for providing false information to the officers during the investigation and for driving while intoxicated.
   At the station Mr. Quesada submitted breath samples that resulted in a reading of 0.04 percent BAC, according to police.
   He was also charged with driving while intoxicated in a school zone, failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, unlicensed driving, uninsured motorist, improper backing, reckless driving, and providing false information to a law enforcement officer.
   Mr. Quesada was later released to a friend with pending court action.
