ALLENTOWN: Businesses offer scholarships

ALLENTOWN — The Allentown Business Community Association is offering two $250 merit scholarships to seniors who have been involved in business-related activities during their high school years.
The application deadline is May 10.
To be eligible, a student must be a graduating senior who is a resident of Allentown, Upper Freehold or Millstone. One scholarship will be given to an Allentown High School student and the other to private, parochial or home-schooled student who meets the residency requirements, according to Anthony Muscente, the chairman of the ABCA scholarship committee.
The scholarships are intended to assist the winners with “future business pursuits and endeavors.” As part of the application, students must describe jobs, internships and volunteer positions held during their high school careers and submit a 500-word essay on a business venture the student would like to one day pursue in the Allentown area.
To obtain a scholarship application, students are asked to contact Mr. Muscente at [email protected].
