MANALAPAN — During the night hours on March 31, multiple unlocked vehicles that were parked in the driveway of homes onWillow Grove Way and Tamarack Drive in the Holiday North residential development were burglarized, according to information provided byManalapan police.
Various items including currency, tools, phone chargers, credit cards, prescription medication, a DVD player, and iPods were removed from the vehicles.
Police said several of the items that were reported stolen were located in the possession of a 21-year-old Manalapan resident after he was arrested for a similar incident in Marlboro. The incidents are under investigation and charges are pending.
Anyone who lives in the area and had items missing from a vehicle is advised to file a report with the Manalapan Police Department. Residents are advised to keep their vehicles locked at all times.
In other incidents reported by Manalapan police:
• On March 31, a resident of Tamarack Drive came to police headquarters to report that two of his vehicles were broken into while they were parked in his driveway between 7 p.m. March 30 and 8 a.m. March 31. Suspects removed cash, hand tools and a television video monitor. Police said there is a suspect in the case and an investigation is continuing.
• On April 1, a resident of Dancer Lane reported that her house was burglarized sometime between March 30 and April 1. The house is vacant, but some personal items were still in the residence. An investigation is pending.
• OnApril 1, a resident of Freehold Borough reported that his pull camper was stolen from a property on Smithburg Road. The camper was last seen on March 22. The camper is a 15-foot-long, green and white pull camper.
• OnApril 1, a 15-year-old male resident of Manalapan reported that he was assaulted while he was walking on Dogwood Court. The boy told police an older model red sedan pulled into the cul-de-sac and when the occupants observed him, they exited the vehicle and began assaulting him. The suspects are described as two white males between 15 and 17 years old, one wearing a gray sweatshirt with a Champion insignia on it. Another suspect was described as a short black male. The incident took place at about 3 p.m. An investigation is pending.
• On March 29 between 7:15 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., an unknown person attempted to gain entry to a Tracey Drive residence by prying open the garage door. No entry was gained into the residence and nothing was removed.
• OnMarch 28, police took a theft report from a 45-year-old male resident of Manalapan. The resident reported that he had discovered $8,200 worth of items missing from his residence. It is believed the items went missing sometime between March 16 and March 21. The resident signed a criminal complaint against a 22-year-old male suspect. This case is pending court, according to police.
