JAMESBURG— The Borough Council voted unanimously April 11 to introduce an ordinance to initiate road resurfacing on West Railroad Avenue.
If the ordinance is adopted as scheduled following a May 16 public hearing, the work could begin in July, Business Administrator Denise Jawidzik said.
After the meeting, Councilman Otto Kostbar said the resurfacing is needed along West Railroad Avenue and that he hopes they are able to address the railroad crossing there in the future.
“Hopefully, we can get some funds for that at some point,” he said.
The New Jersey Department of Transportation awarded Jamesburg a grant in the amount of $225,000 for the project and will hold a pre-constructionmeetingwith borough officials in the near future, Jawidzik said.
The resurfacing project follows similar improvements made along Forsgate Drive.
