The New Jersey Marlins seek dedicated, hardworking baseball players ages 12-17 for the 2012 spring/summer and fall seasons. Tryouts will be held April 27, May 4 and 11 at the Cross Farms Field in Holmdel. The Rutgers Athletics Department has a full slate of free events scheduled for Rutgers Day on April 28. The Rutgers Spring Football game will conclude the day at 3 p.m. at Rutgers’ High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway. Admission is free and the events will be held rain or shine.
After the spring game everyone will receive a free Rutgers Football poster, be able to go down on the field, and get autographs and photos with current players including Savon Huggins of Jackson, Tim Wright of Wall, and Anthony DiPaula and Mike Bimonte of Manalapan. Former RU players Brandon Bing (Giants), Devin McCourty (Patriots), Jason McCourty (Titans), Jeremy Zuttah (Buccaneers), Kevin Malast from Manchester (Titans), Jamaal Westerman (Dolphins), Howard Barbieri (Ravens), Tiquan Underwood (Patriots), Brian Leonard (Bengals), Courtney Geene (Jaguars), Kevin Brock (Bills), Gary Gibson (Rams), and Joe Lefeged (Colts) will be on hand for free autographs at noon.

CK’sBaseball4u, Morganville, is launching CK’s Diamond Challenge Youth Travel Baseball League, a youth player development program that will begin in the fall. Early registration and promotions are currently being offered. The goal of the program is to develop the youth player at an earlier age to be prepared for the rules and competition that lie ahead. The Diamond Challenge League will include more games, new rules, more strategy, an interactive league website and training options.
