PLAINSBORO: Woman, 19, charged with auto theft

   PLAINSBORO — Jokebed U. Eustache, 19, of Rahway, was charged with auto theft and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose on Ridge Road in the early morning on April 23.
   A resident of Deer Creek Drive reported an unknown guest at his party stole his 2006 Dodge Charger valued at $18,000 from the parking lot in front of his residence at 5:07 a.m.
   Police said they saw the vehicle traveling westbound shortly after on Schalks Crossing Road toward Route 1.
   After stopping the car on Ridge Road, police said they found a small, metal folding knife on Ms. Eustache.
   Ms. Eustache allegedly said the knife was for protection purposes.
   Further investigation revealed Ms. Eustache allegedly hit another car owned by the victim as she was trying to flee the scene of the theft.
   The estimated damage to both cars is approximately $1,500.
   Ms. Eustache was sent to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center in lieu of $2,500 bail.
