Mary’s Place to hold its first walk May 12

Mary’s Place By The Sea is holding its first annual walk from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12. The 2½-mile walk will begin across the street from Mary’s Place, located at 15 Broadway in Ocean Grove.

Mary’s Place By The Sea provides an innovative approach to caring for women with cancer during and after treatment. Guests receive individual oncological massage, guided meditation, nutritional counseling, spa services, group workshops and overall support in a six-bedroom lakefront bed-and-breakfast building located in Ocean Grove. Since opening in May 2009, Mary’s Place By The Sea, a nonprofit organization, has served more than 500 women, free of charge, throughout the tri-state area. All women living with all forms of cancer are welcome at Mary’s Place By The Sea.

The goal is to raise $100,000 toward the purchase of the Mary’s Place home. The registration fee is $35 and includes an event-day T-shirt.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three individual fundraisers. Food and beverages will be available for all walkers after the event. There will be music and opportunities to meet with local sponsors, who continuously support Mary’s Place By The Sea.
