ASBURY PARK , NJ – Every day, small business owners are bombarded with offers touting the “next great marketing idea”. Worried that they will get left behind in the marketing dust, owners often ignore their entrepreneurial instincts and invest in expensive systems and unproductive techniques.
That’s why Interfaith Neighbors, an interdenominational organization devoted to the revitalization of Monmouth County and UCEDC, a nonprofit economic development corporation, have teamed up to offer “Marketing Made Real: the essential steps for small business success” on Tuesday, May 22 from 7 – 9 PM in Asbury Park.
“It’s easy to get caught up with the latest trends and rush off to blog, twitter, and post,” says Erich Peter, UCEDC Director of Training. “But unless you have a sound understanding of the 5 P’s of marketing – Product, Price, Place, Promotion, and People – you’ll be wasting your time and perhaps jeopardizing your business”.
The interactive workshop brings the 5 P’s to life with a practical review of marketing fundamentals such as:
Market research
Evaluating your competition
Defining and reaching your target market
Working within your budget
Participants will learn how to apply these principles first-hand as the class works together to bring a product to “market”. “We’ll take the case study from inception to sale, answering real-life questions about how to find your customers, outsmart your competition, and get the most bang out of your marketing buck,” says Roger Boyce, director of Interfaith Neighbors’ Business Development Center.
Registration for Marketing Made Real: the essential steps for small business success is available online at www.ucedc.com/events , by email at [email protected], or phone at 732-775-0525, ext 210. Registration fees are $20 and pre-registration is required.
