HOPEWELL VALLEY: Recycling forum set for May 8

A free 90-minute forum May 8 will focus on the ins and outs of recycling and “freecycle.”
The 7:30 p.m. meeting will be presented by the Hopewell Valley League of Women Voters at the New Jersey Pure Conference Center at the new Capital Health Medical Center on Scotch Road, Hopewell Township.
Dan Napoleon of the Mercer County recycling program will answer questions about what should and what should not go into those curbside recycling barrels and why.
Then Jim Lee of the County Freecycle Network will explain this grassroots movement of people who are giving — and getting — things for free in their own hometown. Check out www.freecycle.org.
This effort is growing quickly and helps keep things out of landfills — especially household items and other things that can be used by other people.
Members of Hopewell Valley’s Green Team will be on hand, and participants will hear 30-second tips on how to “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.”
The League of Women Voters, founded in 1920, has had an active Hopewell Valley chapter for 50 years. For membership, call Joann Held at 737-0867.
