Free concert: The public is invited to hear the Blawenberg Band in concertfrom 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 15. Light refreshments will be served.

Movie night: A free showing of “The Iron Lady,” starring Meryl Streep as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 16.
Baseball card show: On Tuesday, May 22, bring your baseball cards and Library Director Ed Smith will do the rest. Sparkee, the Someret Patriots’ mascot, will be here for pictures, so bring your camera.
Holiday hours: The library will close Saturday, May 26, and Monday, May 28, to observe Memorial Day. Regular hours will resume Tuesday, May 29.
Display case: On display for the month of April was a superb collection of dolls by Gale Skirkanish and Christ the King School and art teacher Mrs. Minsavage. If you have a hobby or collection that you would like to exhibit in the display case, call Barbara Forbes at 908-722-9722.
Kids craft: Free event for students in grades K-5 on Thursday, May 17, from 3:30-4 p.m. Registration is required.
Chess class: The free class, which is open to all ages, will meet in the Quiet Room on Thursday nights from 6:30 to 8. All are welcome.
Hungry Readers Book Club: The club meets from noon to 1 p.m. on the second Monday of each month. The next meeting will be held May 14. For information, call Beverly Ball at 908-722-3057.
Gifts for the library: If you have new books, DVDs and CDs that you no longer need, consider donating them to the library. In addition, IRS tax-deductible monetary contributions are accepted. Due to budget cuts, donations are needed and appreciated. In advance, the library thanks everyone for their generosity.
Books for sale: The library has ongoing book sale of a variety of children’s, juvenile non-fiction, biography, fiction, non-fiction, mystery, science fiction and more. Hardcover books sell for 50 cents, softcover 25 cents or by the bag for $2. VHS tapes are three for $1.
Crochet and Knitting Club Too: The next meeting will be Wednesday, May 30, from 6:15-8 p.m. in the Community Room. Bring your yarn and needles and join us. All are welcome, whether you are a novice or experienced.
Cost of copies: Due to the cost of ink cartridges, the library Board of Trustees has raised the price of copies. Black-and-white copies are 25 cents each. Color copies are 50 cents.
Library hours: General hours are Monday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Tuesday, noon-8 p.m.; Wednesday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m.; Thursday, noon-8 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
