The 31st annual Shad Fest on April 28 and 29 was two great days of festival fun.
Visitors enjoyed everything the event had to offer: a great variety of artists and crafters, delicious food, fantastic live music, family fun and the wonderful shops of Lambertville.
Those festival visitors will come back throughout the year to partake of the unique shops, restaurants, lodgings and riverside recreation that we have to offer.
The success of this event would not be possible without the following:
Shad Fest presenting sponsor Princeton Automobile Company; Comcast; Callaway Henderson Sotheby’s International Realty; United Water; The Bank of Princeton; New Jersey Lottery; Hart Venture Group; Amwell Valley Self Storage; the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission; PNC Bank; Amway; BathFitters; Kitchen Magic; David Lerner Associates; Renewal by Andersen; JCP&L; Leaf Filter; and ING Financial Partners.
Our officials Lambertville Police Director Bruce Cocuzza; police liaison Sgt. Michael O’Rourke; the entire Police Department; Lester Myers and all the members of the Department of Public Works; the Rescue Squad; the fire departments; City Clerk Cynthia Ege and the city offices; and, of course, Mayor David Del Vecchio and the members of City Council.
The combination of all of these helped keep Shad Fest visitors safe and traffic moving. We could not do the event without their support and efforts.
With much hard work and continued innovation, scholarship poster auction Chairman Kevin Griffin has continued his trend-setting pace. Look for the scholarship poster auction press release soon with details.
With the generous support of Lambertville Station and Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation, many of the expenses incurred in doing the auction will be defrayed, and most of the proceeds of the auction will go into the dedicated scholarship fund for students from the South Hunterdon Regional High School sending district and the New Hope-Solebury sending district pursuing a collegiate career in the arts.
Thanks to all the auction volunteers with a special nod to John and Tracey Costanzo, Roy Reinard, Wendy Warren, Cindy Ege, Marcia Taylor, Melody Hunt Tinsman, Jake Stephens and Judy Henn.
The generous contributions of local businesses underwrote the poster artist prizes. Thanks to these poster prize sponsors: Michael Burns Architects, Hamilton’s Grill, The Missing Peace, Goldsmiths, Sojourner, Greene Street Consignment, Lambertville Historical Society, Jim’s of Lambertville, A Mano Galleries, Lambertville Trading Company, Vecere Jewelers, Princeton Fuel, Stoneking Wellness Center, Rago Arts and Auction, Rice’s Market, G. Evans Ltd., Hopewell Valley Community Bank, Quiet Life Gallery, Castor Jewelry, PickyPaws, Rick’s Italian, NewHope.fm, Hughes-Plumer & Associates, Kalmia Club, Mark Bydalek Dental, The People’s Store and DeAnna’s.
Heartfelt thanks to all the artists who contributed posters; there couldn’t be an auction or a scholarship fund without them!
The spirit of volunteerism is exemplified by the following: Al Komjathy, Derek Roseman and John Holly who kept vendors toeing the line; LACC board members Tom Martin, Amy Coss, Heather Caroline, Wilson Weed, Breanna Fulper, Dana Cormier, Sean Faherty, Carol Cruickshanks and Erin McManus Keyes; Judy Henn for the T-shirt and T-shirt design; Elsie Coss, Randall Davis, Kath Semko and the folks at Sojourner.
Thanks to Soraya and Miguel at The Frame Shop. Thanks as well to Ellen Hecht and Sue Wydick for poster distribution.
A big thank you to Foreman Dan Pasciullo and the guys at the DRJTBC who help us every year with the installation of Shad Fest banners and electric.
Thanks to local businesses that helped make the event such a success: Wells Fargo Bank, Garefino Funeral Home, Niece’s, Rago Arts & Auction, Ennis Market, Hamilton’s Grill, Allied Village Square, ESC Schools & Verizon.
Thanks as well to St. John the Evangelist Church.
The Lambertville Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to be the sponsor of an event, which showcases what Lambertville has to offer, gives so many local nonprofit organizations a venue for fundraising and provides thousands each year in scholarships for local students.
