Letters: Allentown parade needs funds

From: Elizabeth Poinsett, Allentown
Parade funds sorely needed
To the editor:
Like many of you, I received a letter form one of the two remaining active service organizations in our area. I saw it as a plea for help from an organization that has barely survived, but continues to serve the entire area.
Readers, please look back over the year. Many of our clubs and organizations from the Allentown, Upper Freehold, Millstone, Robbinsville, New Egypt areas have come and gone. I urge everyone who loves the Allentown Memorial Day parade to send $5, $10, $15 – whatever you can – to the Lions Club, P.O. Box 162, Allentown, NJ 08501 to support this worthy endeavor.
Yes, we have some disgruntled property owners, but stop and think. How many historic villages of six-tenths of a mile exist that proudly boasts historic preservation and offer what do? So much has happened in our lifetime that we can proudly reflect back on. I am pleased and proud to contribute toward the Memorial Day parade. You can mail a donation or make a donation via PayPal by visiting the Lions website at www.allentownlions.com.
