RED BANK — Riverview Medical Center will host several events during the sixth annual “Paint the Town Pink” breast cancer awareness campaign May 4-12.
Acommunity-wide event, “Paint Everything Pink,” will take place Sunday, May 6, 1-4 p.m. Enjoy Community Day by bringing the whole family out for a day of fun featuring fun and games for kids, Pink It Yourself Man Cave, Rockin’Country Thunder 106.3 and more.
Other featured “Pink” events include:
• Friday, May 4, “Party for Pink,” 7-11 p.m. Hosted by the Care To Give Council, a Riverview Medical Center and Bayshore Community Hospital Auxiliary, the event will be held at the Navesink Country Club, Middletown. The Parisian-themed evening will feature a French jazz band and French cuisine. Tickets are $70, and reservations are limited.
“An Unplanned Plan: An Evening with Bill Rancic” will take place Monday, May 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the Count Basie Theatre. Rancic, author and entrepreneur, will share the story of his marriage and family, his career and his wife’s recent breast cancer diagnosis, and all the unplanned things in life that happen when you are busy making other plans. Tickets are on sale through the Count Basie box office. General admission is $39. VIP premium tickets are $100, which includes premium seating, a meetand greet cocktail reception and a Paint the Town Pink gift bag. A Pink Panel Luncheon will take place Tuesday, May 8, noon to 2 p.m. at Bingham Hall, River Road in Rumson. The luncheon will include an informative and unique discussion by a panel of Riverview physicians. Topics of discussion around breast health will include the importance of annual mammography, diagnostic testing, treatment options, and plastic surgery. Girls Night Out will take place Thursday, May 10, 7-10 p.m., hosted by The Downtown in Red Bank.
The evening will feature pink cocktails and treats with live music by the Mike Dalton Band followed by The Downtown’s rock ’n’ roll karaoke. Wear your favorite pink outfit. Tickets are $60.
Saturday, May 12, brings a Zumbathon for Paint the Town Pink, 9 a.m. to noon, hosted by Bayshore Community Hospital in partnership with Meridian Fitness and Wellness and the town of Holmdel.
In addition to a 90-minute Zumba workout, there will be giveaways, refreshments, activities for kids and education on the “Pink” mission and the importance of annual mammography. Tickets are $10 before May 7 and $15 after.
