The Chris Cooper Scholarship Fund will hold its ninth annual Dinner-Dance 7 p.m.- midnight May 4 at Palms Plaza Caterers, Park Plaza, Route 34, Old Bridge.
This year’s theme is “Hoe-Down.” Guests are encouraged to sport Western-wear hats and boots. There will be prizes for best-dressed cowboy and cowgirl.
The event will raise money for the scholarship fund, named in honor of Cooper, a 1999 Old Bridge High School (OBHS) graduate who pitched for the high school baseball team and died as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in 2003. Proceeds will help an eligible OBHS boys baseball player and an OBHS girls softball player attend college. Recipients are selected based on leadership, good sportsmanship, playing ability and a love of the game.
Tickets cost $85 per person. Guests will receive one raffle ticket with each paid admission.
