The new pool complex is getting ready for its Memorial Day weekend grand opening.
All three pools are filled with water, the locker rooms are finished and loose ends are being tied up.
”All the major components to the facility are for the most part complete. We are at punch list status for all that is going on out there,” said Ben Stentz, executive director of the Recreation Department. “We’re waiting to get a temporary certificate of occupancy from the township, which will allow us to start to bring our stuff over.”
Several new trees, grasses and plantings were installed last week, giving new life to the complex.
”That from a visual standpoint has brought it all together; it’s been a long time since we’ve seen green out there,” said Mr. Stentz. “The weather continues to cooperate, since we have been laying sod, it has been raining.”
The grand opening will take place on May 26 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:45 a.m., which is after the Memorial Day parade. A second ribbon cutting will take place at the family pool as part of a naming ceremony.
