CLINTON, N.J. (May 4, 2012) – Unity Bank and James A Hughes, Unity Bank President & CEO, will be honored with the Community Leadership Award by Chabad of Hunterdon County during the Ninth Annual Banquet Dinner May 31 at the Grand Colonial in Hampton.
“Jim Hughes and Unity Bank have demonstrated their commitment to the community and Chabad for many years,” said Rabbi Eli Kornfeld, Executive Director of Chabad of Hunterdon County. “They have been an invaluable community partner, lending their time, expertise and resources for many people in need. Unity Bank is an outstanding community bank and they have inspired many to follow their lead – the essence of community leadership.”
Hughes joined Unity Bank in December 2000 as Executive Vice President & CFO. In 2003, he was appointed President & CEO. Hughes previously served as Senior Vice President of Finance at Summit Bancorp and was an audit manager with KPMG, L.L.P.
“It is a great honor to receive this recognition from Chabad of Hunterdon County,” said Hughes. “Community service is integral to the mission of Unity Bank and it is truly a privilege to partner with an organization that does such great work in Hunterdon County. Personally, I am humbled by the recognition because giving back to those less fortunate is truly a rewarding experience.”
The dinner will also feature Joe Piscopo, the actor and comedian of Saturday Night Live fame, and musician Yoel Sharabi, a master of modern Israeli and Chassidic melodies. The event begins with a 6:30 p.m. reception followed by dinner. For ticket information, please call 908-238-9002 or visit www.jewishhunterdon.com.
