Manville is full of great things for your mother to make her day a little more special this Sunday.
Looking for that perfect gift can be hard, but town stores offer many options.
You could send Mom to the Hair House International for an European facial, massage or maybe a manicure and pedicure. Owner Mary Tabbit has a special on gift certificates buy two $100 gift certificates and receive half off the third for any services.
”We have specials and discounts for moms and anyone who wants to be pampered,” she said. “Moms definitely need to be pampered. We do a lot for our children.”
Moms love flowers, and you can pick up some of her favorites and help out a local cause at the same time by shopping at the North End Volunteer Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary’s flower sale. It features hanging plants, garden dishes and potted plants.
There is a preview Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for early shoppers at the firehouse on North 8th Avenue. The sale reopens Saturday at 9 a.m. at Rhythms on South Main Street until dusk.
Fresh-cut flowers are also nice to give. Visit the new Flowers on Main Street florist for some roses, carnations or arrangements. If your mom lives in Manville, you can send flowers with free delivery. Flowers on Main Street can send flowers to moms out of town, too.
Many other local businesses have great gifts for moms. Others to visit include Amy’s Hallmark, Jewelry Exchange and T&A Fine Jewelry.

For lunch or dinner, mom would enjoy going to Pizza and Pasta where Mark and Gina Levash have a special menu planned.
”Mother’s Day is a very busy day, and we do special entrees that offer usually a steak dish, a seafood dish, a special pasta stuffed with shrimp or crab meat,” Mr. Levash said. “We do a martini special, something that all mothers enjoy, usually like a chocolate martini. Most of our Mother’s Day specials come with chocolate mousse for dessert. Please come in, and reservations are accepted on larger parties.”
Some other ideas for lunch or dinner include Mia Sorella and Frank’s Italian Restaurant, and there are many others.
Dessert can be simple at LJ’s Boardwalk with some ice cream or Jim’s Soft Pretzels. You could even take in a movie with mom at the Reading Cinemas.
Whatever you plan for Mother’s Day, your mom will love because it is from you. To all mothers, have a Happy Mother’s Day and enjoy your day.
