Vote at Playground Committee’s table at New Egypt Day
PLUMSTED — The Playground Committee is asking the public to stop by its table at New Egypt Day on May 12 and help it pick the new playground for the recreation fields at Brindletown and Brynmore roads.
The committee will be displaying the drawings from two design companies and asking people to vote for their favorite. New Egypt Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the downtown areas by Oakford Lake and Front Street.
”We are now bringing this project to the residents of Plumsted,” Township Committeeman Jack Trotta said. “We want to get their opinions on which design they prefer.”
Mr. Trotta and Township Committeeman Herb Marinari are the co-chairs of the group tasked with updating playgrounds in Plumsted Township. Several community members have also been volunteering their time on the project.
The playground committee has reviewed the current playgrounds and what features they wanted in new playground equipment. Several members of the committee have taken their children or grandchildren to other playgrounds built by the playground equipment companies so that they could see firsthand the quality of the material and how well children liked the playground.
The existing playground at the recreation fields was built about 20 years ago and needs to be replaced because parts have broken through the years.
