This event, open to all seniors, was hosted by the SAIL program at Somerset Medical Center. And Elvis Presley was in the building!

CHAPTER B
Chapter B members meet at the Municipal Complex on the second Thursday of each month. Our doors open at 10:30-10:45 a.m.
We are trying a new sign-in system and we ask everyone’s cooperation. There will be two entrances and you are welcome to come in either one. The first will be our main entrance that we have always used or, if you park in the front of the building, you can walk straight down that hall and enter the last doorway on your left.
Remember, if you do not sign in, you will not be counted as attending. Our event tables for trip sign-ups will open for general membership at 11 a.m., which is a half-hour earlier than our former time. Our meeting will start at 12:30 p.m., as usual, and the next meeting will be our anniversary luncheon on June 14 and will be held in the auditorium at Mary Mother of God Church on Triangle Road.
Tickets must be purchased in advance. Since we will be having this luncheon off-site, no tickets for any event will be sold that day.
In honor and celebration of Memorial Day, our Wall of Honor will be on display for the month of May. This wall, which we have put up for the past several years, has pictures of Chapter B members, living and deceased, who have served in all our wars going back to World War II.
If you will not be attending our meeting, do stop by during the month. I know you will be moved by the display. This wall is displayed because of the efforts of past president Virginia Hutson and Beverly and Bob Barsch, longtime members of our group. Many thanks to all three for their dedication.
For those who have purchased tickets to our cruise around New York with a visit to the 9/11 memorial, note the change of time for departure from Hillsborough. We ask that you to be at the Municipal Building parking lot by 9:30 a.m. with boarding at 9:45 and departure for New York City at 10.
Trip tickets available at July meeting:
Monmouth Raceway on Aug. 24 — The cost is $69 and includes admission, grandstand seating, with a delicious dinner following the races at Basile’s Restaurant in Freehold. Only a few tickets left.
Berkshires tour — Trip to Stockbridge, Mass., includes Norman Rockwell Museum (Sept 25-27). The third and final payment of $172 is due.
Annual picnic — It will be held at the Municipal Building on Aug. 9.
Oktoberfest — Platzl Brauhaus in Ponoma, N.Y. – Includes lunch, beer, soda, cider, dancing and entertainment. Cost is $75.
Senior activity rooms: Reminder to all seniors 60 and older who are residents of Hillsborough, we have three great rooms for our enjoyment every weekday from 9a.m. to 4 p.m.
Our large room has bridge every Tuesday and Thursday morning beginning at 9 continuing to noon or 1 p.m.. Mah jongg is played every Friday beginning at 9:30 a.m. and on Wednesday starting at noon for the more experienced players.
Also this room has other games going on each afternoon, crafts, etc. Check it out. We also have a game room for shuffleboard, darts, and pool. Our third room has four computers and a small library at your disposal. All we ask is for you to come and enjoy and be sure to sign in.
