Roger A. Plew, Bordentown Township
I want to say thank you to all the residents that participated in the Bordentown Township’s Environmental Commission’s Shredder Day on Saturday, May 5.
The turnout from our residents was tremendous and was more than double any previous year.
We shredded between 3,500 and 4,000 pounds from the residents. The township threw in a few papers, and we shredded a grand total of 19,313 pounds of paper.
Be sure to mark your calendars for future Paper Shredder Days, the first Saturday of May. I hope to see all of you and more next year.
Remember, to produce each week’s Sunday newspaper, 500,000 trees must be cut down, and if we recycled just one-tenth of all our newspapers, we would save 25,000,000 trees a year.
What we do for the environment today will benefit our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
