Petra Elliott Kann and Thomas Patrick Weir were married May 26 by the Rev. David Mertz and the Rev. Nancy Duff at Miller Chapel, Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton.
The bride, 25, is studying esthetics in Rockville, Maryland. She attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Peter R. Kann and Karen Elliott House of Princeton. Mr. Kann is the retired chairman and chief executive officer of Dow Jones & Co. Ms. House, the retired publisher of The Wall Street Journal, has just completed a book on Saudi Arabia which will be published in September by Knopf. Both Ms. House and Mr. Kann are recipients of the Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting, he in 1972 and she in 1984.
The groom, 26, is a third-year law student at Georgetown Law School and is an editor of The Georgetown Law Journal. Between college and law school he worked as a cook and outdoor educator. He graduated from Dickinson College in 2008. He is the son of Brian and Barbara Weir of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Weir is a librarian at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pa. Mr. Weir is a science teacher at Garnet Valley Middle School in Glen Mills, Pa.
