EAST WINDSOR — Members of the Police Department responded to a house fire at 1 a.m. May 29 on 11 Bristol Way.
Officers, patrolmen Earl Biddy and Troy McWhorter, caught two residents who escaped the blaze by jumping from a second floor window, police said.
The fire destroyed the residence.
It was also reported to the Herald, though unconfirmed as of press time, that a gas tank located at the property exploded.
Police said upon arrival, officers encountered the residence engulfed in flames. Officers then assisted the people jumping from the second floor window.
No injuries were reported and the incident is under investigation, according to police.
East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 as well as fire companies from the following towns: Hightstown, Robbinsville, Cranbury, Plainsboro, Monroe, Millstone, Princeton Junction and Princeton.
East Windsor Rescue Squad District 1 and East Windsor Rescue Squad District 2 also responded.
