MONTGOMERY Lance A. Pederson, 58, of North Plainfield, was charged with driving while intoxicated after an accident while riding an ATV on May 28 at 5:44 p.m.
Mr. Pederson was riding a Suzuki four-wheel drive Quad Runner ATV through trails on the property of a Broadway residence, when a plow that was attached to the front of the quad dropped to the ground causing the ATV to stop suddenly.
The sudden stop threw Mr. Pederson from the ATV, resulting in injuries to his neck and back.
The Montgomery Township Squad 47 EMS, Somerset Medical Center Paramedics and Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department No. 1 responded to the accident and stabilized Mr. Pederson.
He was to the Lubas ball field where State Police helicopter flew him to the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
He also received summonses for driving while intoxicated and careless driving.
