Liz Lempert defeated Kevin Wilkes in the Democratic Party mayor’s race with double the votes in the primary election Tuesday while voters selected six candidates for the final election to the new Princeton Council.
Ms. Lempert finished with 2,055 votes and Mr. Wilkes had 1,105 in unofficial results.
In the council race the unofficial results from the municipal clerk are:
Lance Liverman: 2,208
Heather Howard: 2,187
Bernie Miller: 2,170
Patrick Simon: 1,941
Jenny Crumiller: 1,923
Jo Butler: 1,755
Falling short of the seats were:
Scott Sillars: 1,413
Tamera Matteo: 1,326
Roger Martindell: 1,041
In the 16th district race, even though Princeton Township resident Sue Nemeth had three times the support of Marie Corfield in her hometown with 2,175 votes to Ms. Corfield’s 729, she lost in South Brunswick and Hillsborough by wide margins.
