An anonymous caller at 2:19 p.m. May 28 said one of the American flags near Kennedy Boulevard was loose. Patrols checked and said all flags were fine.
At 10:09 a.m. May 29 a man reported losing his wallet about 9:30 the previous evening in the vicinity of South Main Street and South 5th Avenue. The wallet had his driver’s license and registration, $300 in cash and health insurance, debit and credit cards.
An anonymous walk-in visitor to headquarters said at 2:07 p.m. May 29 that there was a large group of skateboarders causing a traffic hazard in the Rustic Mall by Buck’s and Bank of America. Patrols found no one. Less than a half-hour later, a caller reported a group of skateboarders , bike and scooter riders near Louis Street and North 2nd Avenue who continually left the area a mess, a caller said. Patrols advised three juveniles of the complaint.
A caller at 3:26 p.m. May 29 reported locating a silver 2005 Toyota at Adesa Auto Auction that had been reported stolen in New York City. Police there confirmed that, but alarms were canceled when the vehicle was found to be a repossession.
A caller at 4:05 p.m. May 29 said a man in a parking lot on South Main Street said he had been said he had been sprayed with an unknown substance that was burning. Police found that Barry Wade, 50, had been sprayed but he refused medical assistance and police took him to his West Camplain Road home.

A Louis Street caller at 11:26 a.m. May 30 said that someone has dumped a chemical on his lawn three separate times over three months and wanted it on the record. He said he would furnish photos.
An East Mountain Road, Hillsborough, woman came into headquarters at 12:50 p.m. May 30 to say she had just lost her white purse containing a red wallet and various credentials in Wal-Mart. She wanted it on the record.
Someone may have used their swimming pool while they were away for two days, a North 18th Avenue woman called to say at 2 p.m. May 30, because she found a pair of socks in the back yard, she said. She wanted it on the record
A North Park Street woman reported at 5:55 p.m. May 30 that sometime in the last week she lost her New Jersey driver’s license in the borough. She wanted it on the record.
A 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer was reported stolen from the Adesa Auto Auction lot at 6:55 p.m. May 30. Police couldn’t enter the vehicle into crime registries until the vehicle ID number had been confirmed.
At about 11:30 p.m. May 30 a caller said someone tried to break into his North 20th Avenue garage the day before, but nothing was taken or broken. Patrols found the garage door had been scratched.
A caller came to headquarters just before midnight on May 30 with information about a burglary in which he was a victim at a South Main Street apartment on May 23. Police conducted an interview.
Ernest DeLouis of Brooklyn, N.Y., called at 2:50 p.m. May 31 to say that someone damaged the car lock on his 2001 Hyundai Elantra between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The car was parked in the Reading Cinema lot on North Main Street and a car stereo, valued at $300, was removed from the dashboard. Patrolman John Granahan was to investigate.
At 4:04 p.m. May 31 a man called to say his 2001 Honda Accord was broken into but nothing was taken while it was parked in the Reading Cinema lot. He called back a minute later to say a second vehicle had been tampered with, but the driver left before police could arrive.
Michael Shubiak, 56, of South 20th Avenue called at 4:45 p.m. May 31 to say he had just cut his leg severely. Police patrols, the rescue squad and Mobile Intensive Care Unit were dispatched and he was taken to Somerset Medical Center for treatment.
A 19-year-old man came to headquarters at 10:30 a.m. Friday to report that several checks were deposited into his account and cash received by another man who lived at the same address on West Camplain Road. The total amount was $2,361.84. The man at headquarters was determined to be involved with this transaction, police said. It was put on the record.
County communications reported a dog attacking a person at Huff and Lincoln avenues at 12:49 p.m. Friday. Police found a 59-year-old man had been bitten, allegedly by a dog owned by a Dominic Street woman. The man refused medical attention and the health department was notified.
County communications reported a motor vehicle crashed into Gatto’s Sports Bar on Semenick Lane at 2:20 a.m. Saturday. Patrols, rescue squad responded. Angela Sorrenti, 42, of Rahway was processed and charged with DWI and possession of cocaine and released on her own recognizance.
A Washington Avenue woman reported at 4:44 p.m. Saturday that a man was in the basement turning off all the electrical boxes. Police responded, said the man had left and it was undetermined how the electric was turned off.
At 9:48 a.m. Sunday a Lincoln Avenue man said he was receiving collection notices in the amount of $909.98 for a charge stemming from 2003. He disputed the charge and said he believed someone used his identity and Social Security number.
At 12:27 p.m. Sunday, Howard J. Starkes Jr., 48, of Wharton was arrested and charged with shoplifting an HP laptop computer, valued at $798, from Wal-Mart on North Main Street on May 23. He was also charged with shoplifting two radios, valued at $613.50, on May 14. Mr. Starkes was lodged in the county jail.
A Kennedy Boulevard man said at 4:53 p.m. Sunday that a South 20th Avenue man threatened to damage his vehicle that night. Patrols responded and put the matter in the record.
