(Belle Mead, NJ), June 8, 2012 – Carrier Clinic, a leading New Jersey behavioral healthcare system, announced yesterday that C. Richard Sarle, president and CEO, will retire effective December 31, 2012. Mr. Sarle has led Carrier Clinic for the past 15 years credited with sound business management and dedication to the mission of the organization.
Carrier Clinic’s Board Chair, Thomas G. Amato, has appointed a search committee to help lead the process of selecting a new president and CEO.
“Under Richard’s leadership, Carrier Clinic grew and became a very adaptive behavioral health system of which the Board of Trustees is exceptionally proud. Richard’s commitment to the mission of the organization has left its impact and has provided momentum for the future of Carrier Clinic,” says Mr. Amato.
During Sarle’s tenure, Carrier Clinic expanded services in their specialty inpatient hospital, adolescent residential, Blake addiction center and East Mountain School. Through Sarle’s leadership, strengthened partnerships with county, state and other providers led to increased access for mental health services to the community. Sarle set the stage for Carrier Clinic’s successful implementation of its strategic plan that looks to the future, bringing a new era of Carrier Clinic- a testament to the facility’s 100-year heritage.
Upon announcing his retirement, Sarle comments, “It has been a privilege to serve as the president and CEO of Carrier Clinic. Carrier has never been stronger and what we have been able to accomplish has been possible because of our skilled staff. I prepare to leave knowing that Carrier is positioned with a solid strategic plan that will move Carrier into the next decade. I believe that this provides the right timing to pass the baton to the right successor who shares the vision and dedication to the people we serve. Carrier’s system includes a 281 licensed bed inpatient psychiatric hospital, 32 bed detoxification and rehabilitation center, a 78 bed adolescent residential facility, and a fully accredited middle and high school for students classified emotionally disturbed.
