Three men have been charged with burglary and theft in connection with the burglary of a Pear Street residence that occurred in the early morning hours of May 24 while the residents were at home in bed, according to police Lt. Mark Ubry.
Steven Key, 18, and Brandon James, 18, and Daivaughn Ward of Hamilton were charged in the incident, Lt. Ubry said. The three men allegedly entered the Pear Street house around 2 a.m. and stole a television set, a laptop computer and a camera, valued at a combined $3,300.
They also took the keys to the victims’ 1997 Buick and 1999 Pontiac, Lt. Ubry said. The cars were recovered later the same day in Trenton.
Mr. Key is being held in the Mercer County Corrections Center on $25,000 bail, Lt. Ubry said. Mr. James and Mr. Ward were already being held in the Bucks County (Pa.) Correctional Center when they were charged.
Lt. Ubry declined to provide specific information, but attributed the arrests to the investigation conducted by police Detectives William Chester and Robert Potter.
